Discounts & Games

Pocket Kanji and Sensei are now 2.95€ in Ovi Store and Paypal. That's almost free.

Two new small apps for fun are added. Bubbles simulates soap bubbles and use sensors and camera to get it as real as possible. Scratch book shows animal pictures as soon as you first wipe the screen clear. Those apps get updates soon when the Ovi Store accepts them.

Pocket Kanji 1.6

Pocket Kanji release 1.6 fixes several issues with the latest Nokia touch screen phones. Items are not opened every time when you scroll the list in N97 with kinetic scrolling. Some phone models could not show kanjis on detailed view, but now that view is totally redesigned. Some minor tweaks with icons and the layout is also done.

Pocket Kanji 1.5

Pocket Kanji got a small update. It has now bigger buttons which should work better with touch screen phones. Buttons are hopefully big enough to hit with a finger now. Furigana texts are also larger to be slightly easier to read.

Pocket Kanji 1.4

New Pocket Kanji is released soon after the previous one. The reason was that some English words like "hand" or "house" got too many matches in Japanese words (thanks for Jab noticing that). Now you can add dot "." at the end of word to force it to be in English. For example "house." returns only words that has meaning house.

Some bugs are corrected in word search and radical form also.

Pocket Kanji 1.3

Touch phones has become more and more popular recently. Pocket Kanji is now updated to support touch buttons. All components in Pocket Kanji react to push.

Japanese word conversion is improved too. Romaji doesn't need to be complete anymore to be recognized as a japanese word. Dictionary shows all words starting with that strings. For example, "tenk" gets words like "tenki" (てんき) and "tenka" (てんか).

Pocket Kanji Lite

Lot of phones cannot install midlets bigger than 1 megabyte. For that reason Pocket Kanji has now a "lite" version. Size is about 930kb so it fits to lot more devices (e.g. Nokia Series 40).

It has some limitations:
  • 22,500 words
  • 1,100 kanjis
  • Font size is limited to 16 pixels

Both versions work with same registration key and they can be downloaded from same page: http://www.digitalfootmark.com/?pr=kanji.
